How does IP Geolocation work?
Every device connected to the internet is assigned a unique IP address. Geolocation databases map these addresses to physical locations by aggregating data from Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and regional registries.
Limitations:
- Accuracy: While country and city detection is generally accurate, street-level accuracy is rarely possible for privacy reasons.
- VPNs/Proxies: If a user is using a VPN, the tool will show the location of the VPN server, not the user's actual home.
